VENICE - SUMMER OF 2005

This was one of the first views I've had of Italy as I got there. When I went outside the boat to snap this photo I also decided to snap a shot with my analogic camera, but as I opened it the batteries when down the canal... lol... thank god I had another pair of batteries with me!
Oh... and if you're wandering why the heck the photo is sliding to the left, it's exactly because I was in a boat that kept moving and moving... :)

And this reminded me of a paiting in my grandad's house... just like the same thing, but this time the real deal! :)

Piazza San Marcus and San Marcus Basilica

San Marcus Basilica

A mosaic in San Marcus Basilica

The San Marcus lion and a Saint and a crocodile

What I love about this photo is the smooth black and white effect... it's not worked in Photoshop or something, it's the photo as it was done... I guess it's because of the intense light in front of the camera... I don't know... never happened that before, but I absolutely love it.

A detail from a column

Another detail, but this time it's San Marcus and his lion

One of the many mask shops!

Me inside that shop... my sister bought a ring there so the lady didn't mind letting me take a photo there! It was a great shop! Inside it you were ld into another dimension! I loved it!

Me with those white masks! Thought they were pretty beautiful like this too!

The one and only gondolier that was a little bit beautiful... not much... but considering the rest... this one would be Mister Gondolier!! LOL

Me in the gondola

And this is our gondolier, not bad... not bad... lol

The bridge back there is Rialto bridge. This photo was done by my sister during our gondola ride.

Did you know the parts in the metal symbol of the gondola represent the counties inside Venice and the one on the other side represents the other county that is on the other side of the main Canal, Guidecca.

Ponte dei Sospiri, a bridge that the condemned had to cross to go and find out their punishment (many wouldn't return as their punishment was death).

I can't remember the name of this church, but I absolutely adore the photo. Never thought this would tunr out like this. :) I'm absolutely proud of me! :)
